CREATING MINDSET FOR HEALTHY & ENRICHED LIFE (CMHEL)

We look at 10 different techniques for changing mindset, with a focus on implementing.

Thought is a powerful force or energy which can build and can destroy. It affects our happiness and success.

Thinking can have just as great an influence on our physical as well as mental health, from common cold to stress, to depression to cardio vascular health to success in life, at work, at home and in our relationships.

So keeping our mindset positive for a healthy and enriched life is very important and conscious activity, something that we need to keep on doing regularly throughout the life.

Thoughts and emotions are vibrations.

  • Vibrations on the lower end of the spectrum are negative, and induce neuropeptides that cause imbalance, then disease. (disease causing).
  • Vibrations on the upper end of the spectrum are positive (Joy, Gratitude, Forgiveness), and create neuropeptides that create wellness, vitality and health. (health promoting).

Research indicates reducing negative self-talk and adopting more positive mindset has many health benefits, both physical and psychological.

It is said

You sow thoughts and reap actions; you sow actions and reap habits; you sow habits and reap character; you sow character and reap a destiny. Thus, destiny depends on character, character depends on habits, habits depend on actions and actions depend on thought. It all comes back to thoughts and in the ultimate analysis, thoughts shape one’s future as well as fortune. Thoughts and destiny are inter-connected.

In this 10 week course we focus on reviewing, discussing, reflecting, and introspecting and practicing few techniques for changing mindset for a healthy and enriched life.

Focus is on learning and practicing each of these techniques in these 10 weeks and coming back to the room and sharing how it is impacting your life.

Takeaway for the course is not just the techniques, but the practice of each one of them and confidence gained from impact of this experiential learning. It is a life skill that we learn and practice in a safe and supportive environment with others who are on similar journey.

Are you eating because you are hungry? 

Other reasons for eating food includes emotional eating, an upset, for distraction, or eating because good food is around.

None of these is necessarily good for health.

According to Ayurveda, food is our first medicine. There is a saying,

“If food is good, medicine is of no need, and if food is not good, medicine is of no use”.

Dietary practices and nutrition in Ayurveda encourage a conscious way of living and eating. What you eat, where you eat, how was the food cooked and served, will all have an effect on your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Eat food that works for you! Eat to create peace within you. Avoid eating food that creates inertia or agitation in your mind.

This course is for you if you are keen to make conscious life choices for:

  • improving your awareness of diet and lifestyle principles for optimal health.
  • learning about effects of food on the mind.
  • Learning Principles of Ayurvedic nutrition
  • Integrating the principles of Ayurvedic diet into your existing Yoga practices.
  • Integrating dietary principles of Ayurveda in living a healthy, natural lifestyle and enhancing your spiritual practices.
  • understanding of Ayurveda to pursue an Ayurveda advanced course in the future.

7 week online course

This introductory level course is about exploring different aspects of life i.e. diet and nutrition, lifestyle and routines, thoughts and feelings, internal values and mindset, and our relationships, as they all contribute in keeping us healthy. Then implementing in life the lessons learnt or revisited during the workshop.

This is a 7 week, once a week online LIVE course. We connect online, learn and discuss and get “homework” for each week. Each week new topics are discussed and some relevant exercises to do are provided. Focus is on implementing what we learn. We also look at what is going on for you in the relevant topic and the support you would like, any wins you had and any tips or best practices you can share. Especially in last couple of weeks, focus is on providing place for accountability and personal practices around health and wellbeing.
