Dr Rajen Cooppan, M.B.Ch.B., M.D., Dip. Ayu, mentor of Neerja Ahuja and AAC, served as an expert advisor to the Federal Government of Australia’s Complementary Medicines Evaluation Committee (CMEC) during his two year stay in Australia. He is past Chairman of the Professional Board for Ayurveda, Chinese medicine and Unani Tibb medicine in South Africa, Director of Research & Development – Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine Unit, Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, Durban, South Africa. Dr Rajen Cooppan is the Founder President of the South African Ayurvedic Medicine Association (SAAMA). He developed the Foundation Training in Clinical Ayurveda (FTCA), Clinical Workshops in Ayurveda (CWA) & PK Training which have been taught to medical and other health professionals in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand
Dr Rajen practices as a General and an Ayurvedic Practitioner in Durban, South Africa, integrating nutritional and herbal medicine with conventional (allopathic) practice.
